“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
Anonymous; attributed to Edmund Burke (1729–1797)

The Northern Brigade is a living history group pledged to represent the life of the common soldiers and women of the British, Loyalist, German and Native forces who struggled two hundred and thirty years ago to preserve the security and peace of North America against open defiance of the authority of King, Parliament and the rule of law.

They had too much honor to “do nothing.” What can we do but emulate them?

God Save the King

We are the Northern Brigade, a grouping of re-enactment units that recreate several Loyalist and British regular regiments that fought for the Crown during the American Revolution, from 1775 to 1781. We appear at venues across Ontario, Quebec and the northeastern United States.
